Abstract

The tests of the maxium bite force and the masticatory efficiency were conducted on the 200 normal subjects and the 40 subjects of the full denture wearing of Korean in order to study the corelation between the maximum bite force and the masticatory efficiency.
The results were as follows;
1, The variability of the maximum bite froce was greater than that of the masticatory efficency.
2. The maximum bite force in the premolar portion was lower than that of the molar portion.
3. The maximum bite force and masticatory efficiency of the full denture wearer was lower than that of the. normal, control group.
4. When the both maximum bite force and masticatory efficiency of the full denture wearer were compared to the standard value of the normal control group, the rate of the masticatory efficiency was greater than the rate of the maximum bite force.
5. There is no corelatjon between the maximum bite force and masticatory efficiency.
